I agree with one of the above comments that frozen baby food is not dead but not born yet. Therefore, you are a trailblazer. Great post, yet again. For research purposes: ck. out Dr. Hiromi Shinya's work. He wrote the books "The Enzyme Factor", and "The Microbe Factor". That is the main place that I found the frozen/dead food association. I am so inspired by your work and look forward to a visit sometime soon! Hi Lovely! Great post, yet again. So some will collect coupons from the food corporations to defray the costs of marginal baby food while others rely on government-sponsord WIC or food stamp programs. Thank you, Jill, for continuing the dialogue! While the food I make for my little one isn't terribly fancy, I do make all of it. She has never eaten food from a jar, and she's doing great (she is, in fact, a broccoli-lover). I've been surprised, though, by the push-back I've received along the way from some folks who think it's weird -- or worse, harmful -- to feed a baby real food (i.e., food that will not remain "good" for a three-year period sitting on a shelf). My daughter's day care teacher repeatedly suggested that I feed her rice cereal from a box. There really is quite a need for education in this area. I applaud you for your efforts, and I thank you for inspiring me to feed my daughter REAL food. Great post, Jill! While the food I make for my little one isn’t terribly fancy, I do make all of it. Too Funny. Yes, frozen baby food isn't dead - not sure it was really ever born...How can frozen baby food be dead if frozen dog food is such a big market? Go to any high end (or even mass market) pet food store and you'll see an entire freezer dedicated to fresh frozen dog food. And these are retailers that aren't set up for refrigeration. Talk about incremental investment! Can't believe this short sighted person you spoke with couldn't see the low incremental cost (they already have freezers) and obvious return on this!
